Summary: After returning to school from a class trip that changed everything, Kris and Adam learn how to make each other feel special.
Author's Note: This is a sequel to New and a Bit Alarming, and it probably makes sense to read that first (though this could stand alone I think). This is for my
schmoop_bingo square: "making out," and was written on a whim tonight in a couple of hours, so any mistakes are mine.
He’s shaking. It’s barely noticeable – just a little quiver in his hands and a little hitch every time he breathes – but Adam notices everything.
He’s usually happy for that. They’re together because Adam noticed the things about Kris that even Kris was too scared to notice. They’re here – in Adam’s room with Terrance staying with Tommy and David for the night – because Adam noticed that Kris was ready. He noticed the little something extra in the way Kris kissed him outside the little Italian restaurant that had quickly become “their place” over their first month of being officially “together.” He noticed that Kris wanted something that he couldn’t say again – because he was scared and because he wasn’t even sure what the something he wanted really was.
But at this moment, Kris wants Adam to ignore those shaking hands and that racing heartbeat. Because he just wants to be normal. He wants to spend the night with his boyfriend and act just like how he’s supposed to. And he’s pretty damn sure he’s not supposed to be so scared.
“You okay?” Adam asks as they sit on his bed, holding the back of Kris’s neck in his hand so Kris can’t look away.
“I’m okay,” Kris mumbles, his legs starting to shake to the point that he’s sure Adam is going to call him a freak and stop whatever is about to happen before it can start. Part of him is scared enough to like that plan.
Suddenly, Adam’s hand is in his hair, running his fingers nails along his scalp, and Kris can’t help but exhale, relaxing into the touch. “Hey,” Adam whispers, and Kris has to work hard to open his eyes to look at him. But when he does, he’s happy he made the effort because they are as warm and as soft as he’s ever seen them, and his stomach feels funny in the nice way he’s come to associate with Adam.
“It’s okay to be nervous, you know,” Adam continues, letting his other hand squeeze Kris’s thigh through his jeans. “But it’s just me.”
And then he’s kissing Kris, and he’s right. It’s just Adam – those same lips that are slow and gentle and softer than he’d ever imagined a guy’s lips could be. They’re the first lips he’s ever kissed, and Kris is sure he’d be okay if they were the last ones too.
When Adam moves closer to him, tangling his long fingers in Kris’s short hair as he opens Kris’s mouth with a brush of his tongue, Kris can feel his body shaking, too. He wonders if Adam is nervous, but he’s never going to ask him. Because Adam’s mouth is busy at the moment, and so is his.
Adam’s fingers are strong on his neck, and Kris likes that he’s in control. Because it makes him feel really safe and really excited at the same time, knowing that he may be going somewhere he’s never gone before, but he’s going with Adam.
They take that first step into Kris’s unknown when Adam eases him down onto the bed. They’ve never done this lying down before. And Adam has never kissed his neck like that before, either. Because it’s not really kissing; it’s licking and sucking, and Kris is pretty sure he feels Adam’s teeth biting at the spot where his neck meets his shoulder.
Adam’s fingers are under the bottom of his shirt, and they’re cold against his skin. He laughs a little because they tickle.
“What’s so funny?” Adam murmurs against his neck.
Kris is struck with a thought that makes him laugh even louder. “Am I going to have a hickey tomorrow?” He thinks about how ridiculous a giant bruise will look on his throat, but the tightening of his pants at the idea has him wondering if it really would be so ridiculous after all.
“Hope so,” Adam says as his mouth moves lower, almost at the collar of his plaid shirt. “I want everyone to know you’re mine.” He licks along his collarbone, and Kris shivers, thinking about how much he wants everyone to know that, too.
When Adam’s mouth returns to that spot he had claimed on his neck, his hands begin to work with Kris’s buttons. When Kris’s fingers reach up to cover his, Adam stops for a second. He gets back to work, though, when Kris helps him open the shirt.
“Thanks,” Adam whispers against Kris’s mouth.
His hands begin exploring right away. Long fingers trace the outlines of Kris’s chest as he returns his mouth to Kris’s. Their lips feel different against each other than before – swollen and hot. Kris can feel something between his legs, and suddenly Adam’s thigh is rubbing against him, making him painfully hard in his jeans.
It feels new and scary and amazing. Kris has no clue what he’s doing, but he can’t stop himself from thrusting against Adam’s leg and making little bites along his jaw. He just hopes he’s not doing it wrong.
The sound coming from Adam’s throat is different than anything he’s heard before, but it seems like a good thing – a very good thing. It’s low and raspy and sounds like he’s out of breath, and Kris feels older and stronger than he’s ever felt just because he’s making Adam Lambert – the coolest guy in school - sound like that.
When Adam moves to his jawbone, that’s when Kris knows it’s almost over. He’s trying to hold on for as long as he can, but Adam’s lips are parted and his hands are slipping under his jeans and finding his ass. He’s never been touched like this; he never knew he wanted to be touched like this.
“I think I’m going to – ” Kris can’t say it. He doesn’t know how to say it. Whatever he is going to do, the pull in his gut tells him it’s going to happen really soon.
“It’s okay,” Adam whispers into his hair. “I want you to.” He runs his tongue along the shell of Kris’s ear, and that’s enough. Kris’s body is trembling and his pants are wet, and he knows he should be embarrassed. But Adam is looking at him under those freckled eyelids like he’s something amazing – like he might actually have done the right thing.
Kris can feel Adam against his thigh – so hard that the pulse is coming through his jeans – and he knows his job. He wants to make Adam feel what he felt, to make him see stars.
“Where do you want me to – ” Before he can finish, Adam moves Kris’s hand to his hip, teaching him how to stroke the soft skin where his shirt had ridden up.
“Under my ear,” Adam breathes, his voice shaky.
Kris does as he is told. His lips press against the skin under Adam’s left earlobe. Slowly, he lets his tongue make small circles there, tasting aftershave and Adam.
Adam is murmuring encouragements, but all Kris needs is the slow roll of his hips, letting him feel how hard he is. His fingers are clumsy, but Adam seems okay with their unadventurous path up and down his sides. His eyes are closed and his breathing is heavy and Kris is finally almost positive that he is doing it right.
When he grunts, “Fuck, Kris,” he almost doubts himself, wondering if the small bite to his earlobe was unwelcome. But then, he feels Adam’s body go limp against him, his pants freshly damp against Kris’s sticky, drying ones.
“That’s never happened before,” Adam says. He pulls Kris into his chest, smoothing back his hair. “You’re pretty special, Kris Allen.”
Kris doesn’t know how to tell Adam how special he is. Because he’s not ordinary special. He’s like a new guitar, “Hey Jude,” and the original Star Wars trilogy – things that don’t come around everyday and change everything when they do.
So he just kisses him. Because he’s 15 and he doesn’t know enough words. Because he’s still kind of scared of things like love even if he knows that’s what it is. Because he feels weird making a speech or something like that with sticky jeans and at least a couple of hickeys on his neck. But mainly, because he likes kissing him.
And he likes that Adam notices things, so he hopes he notices that this kiss is special – just like him.

And when he finds the words, he puts them to music.
I like this little universe.
And IA - I'm sure he'll write a song about this. ;)

Love this more than anything bb <333
And thank you so much for the very nice compliments. <33333
That is what my face looks like right now!
:DDDDD
So cute, so sweet, so hot, and really so so perfect <3
They're just so cute together and then the added benefit of doing something together for the first time, just makes this unbelievably hot and amazing. And this:
Because he’s not ordinary special. He’s like a new guitar, “Hey Jude,” and the original Star Wars trilogy – things that don’t come around everyday and change everything when they do.
made my heart flutter, ngl. I love little, presh looks into Kris's head like that. And the way he describes it, is just too darn adorable. And the fact that Adam notices all the little things about Kris that others don't and that Kris doesn't even notice himself, is just perfect. Seriously, I don't know how you could make anything more perfect.
This=♥ That is all! Thank you for the wonderful morning read bb! :D
I always love your replies because they are so genuine and thoughtful. You really know how to make a writer's day, my dear. I smile every time I see a comment from you in my inbox.

this was so perfect and really accurate for that "first time" feeling. unsure of everything, not knowing what to do, feeling nervous. It was beautiful how reassuring and just generally love Adam was to Kris.
The whole thing was beautiful, the build up and the dialogue. wow. just... I am as always in awe of how you manage to write something so beautiful.
So he just kisses him. Because he’s 15 and he doesn’t know enough words. Because he’s still kind of scared of things like love even if he knows that’s what it is.
Just... -sigh-
ilu.
It's like you knew I needed some nice words to get me through today, and here they are. I always love getting nice comments from anyone, but especially from those that I really love - and even more from people whose writing I really respect. You totally fall into both of those last 2 categories, JSYK. ;)
And guess who's going to try and finally read your regency fic tonight? *flails*
Good job bright lights. I felt that with every neuron in my brain.
I think the beauty of fiction is that things can be much better than reality - not sure I know anyone who had a first time like this really. lol. If it is a gay guy thing, then I want to come back as one too! Or maybe it's just a Kradam thing...
Lovely job, bb!!!! :D
I love how you write them as actually feeling and thinking like teenagers
This is the best compliment I can get. I really appreciate it. <33333
I'm obviously not alone. Like everyone else, I want more.
Thank you!
Lucky lucky boys.
Secondly, I really enjoyed this! They're just so young and fluffy and awwwww... I like it when someone can make me say that about porny things. :D
Secondly, thank you so much! I'm happy that you thought this was both porny and sweet - it's what I was going for. :3
Gaagh. Yes! Because it feels right. Kris and Adam kissing. <333333
I really needed this today (I'm packing for moving in to my dorm and got overwhelmed for a minute), so thank you for making me smile <333
I'm happy this could make you smile - you always make me smile, so it's good to know I can return the favor. ilu bb. <33333
I almost knocked the laptop out of bed when I saw this, I got so excited haha
Love it!!
